God of grace and mercy, we praise you for your love and presence. We ask your presence and protection for your people in dangerous places where hostility faces them daily. Forgive us when we shrink from sharing you fearing someone might make fun of us or reject us. Give us courage to be bold, powerful, and loving for you with those around us at all times. Thank you for your love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness that brings us new life in Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen |

We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, and to work with others for justice, freedom and peace. |
