When the world began, we knew no sin. We walked in gardens of delight, and did not know shame. How grateful we are for the breath of life, Our God, and the beauty of the world you created for us. How joyful are life's beginnings, when all is fresh and new. But as we live our lives we make mistakes and do things that harm ourselves and others. As in Eden, we eat of forbidden fruit and hide from you. Our shame is great, and we become afraid. Forgive our sin, and restore us by your grace! Guide us to the feet of the Christ, who died so we might live! We pray in His name, Amen.

There is no sin so terrible that God cannot forgive
There is no hurt so terrible that God cannot heal
In Jesus Christ, God has forgiven us and set us free!

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

O God, light of the minds that know you, life of the souls that love you, strength of the thoughts that seek you, help us to know you so that we may truly love you and truly serve you, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
