Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
In the day of happiness, we come to you, our God, to give thanks. In our day of trial, you wait to hear our prayers of hope. We are more than the sparrow to you, more than the morning sun. Our very breath is blessed, because you are love everlasting. Yet even as we pray, even as we receive your grace, our confidence falls short of your faithfulness to us. Forgive our sin of the shadow of doubt, and our fear that you may not hear. Erase the arrogance of our thinking, and replace it with a trust and love that is simple and true. Refresh our hearts and our faith, that as children we will come to you with faces of light. You are our Holy One; lead us forward we pray, in Jesus' name. Amen. |

Life of the Church | Special Music | Elder Joyce Johnson |
Hear the Good News! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know you are forgiven and be at peace. Amen. |
||
Passing of the Peace | O Day of Radiant Gladness | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | Gloria Patri | Praise Band |
Guide us, O God, by your Word and Spirit, that in your light we may see light, in your truth find freedom, and in your will discover your peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. |

* Opening Hymn | You Are My God | On Screen (1, 3 & 4) |
We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, and to work with others for justice, freedom and peace. |
