Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
God, we come before you so alive with the joy that is Easter! We have been given the gift of forgiveness, reconciliation and eternal life! We are reminded of your great love and desire for our happiness in every stage of life, a happiness built on unconditional love. We are thankful for new beginnings, and being able to live into the freedom that faith brings. But why, Lord, is it so hard for us to forgive ourselves? Why do we continue to carry the burdens you have lifted from our shoulders? Release us from the sin of ego, and help us surrender to your desire that we accept your forgiveness and live lives renewed in the victory of Christ over death, and light over darkness. We bow our heads in humility and awe, filled only with the desire to carry this same gift to all who struggle with guilt and hardship, so that every person will receive the fullness of your grace. We pray these things in Jesus' name. Amen. |

Life of the Church | Special Music | Deacon Jackie Morgan |
Hear the Good News! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know you are forgiven and be at peace. Amen. |

Passing of the Peace | For the Beauty of the Earth | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
