Welcoming/Preparing to Meet with God | Jesus, I Am Resting, Resting | Pastor Bill Johnson |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |

Prelude | I'd Rather Have Jesus | Praise band |
We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, and to work with others for justice, freedom and peace. |

Moment for Mission | We Praise Thee, O God, Our Redeemer | Elder Jackie Morgan |
Gracious and loving God, on this weekend during which we celebrate the birthday of our nation and the freedoms with which we have been blessed, we praise you for all with which you have blessed us: life, liberty, joy, and an abundance of blessings. Forgive us when we forget the blessings we have in Jesus Christ; when we neglect to be thankful in the face of obstacles; when we seek our will, not yours. Despite our own willfulness you are merciful and forgiving and in thanking you, we give you all the honor and praise now and forever. Thank you for new life as we pray in Jesus’ name and for the sake of this world. Amen. |
