* Call to Worship Leader: Today is Christ the King Sunday. We proclaim that Jesus is our King. That means that Jesus is the ruler of our life. Who is our king? People: Jesus is our King. Leader: Jesus is our Good King. Jesus takes care of his people, loves them, watches over them, helps them, defends them. Jesus’ rule for us is to love God and one another. Who rules our lives? People: Jesus rules our lives. Leader: Jesus is our Lord and Savior. He is our Lord, and we want to do what pleases him. We try to show love to one another and to those in need. Who is our Lord and Savior? ALL: Jesus is our Lord and Savior.

* Opening Hymn All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name  Hymn 263 (all)

Prayer of Adoration & Confession (unison)
You have crowned Jesus Christ as Lord of all.
We confess that we have not bowed before him, and are slow to acknowledge his rule. We give allegiance to the powers of this world, and fail to be governed by your justice and love. Forgive us, God, and fill us with compassion that we might seek out the image of Christ in the least of our brothers and sisters. Now in your presence we offer our silent prayers of confession that we might hear our names called among the faithful when you come again in glory.

(A moment for silent reflection)

Assurance of Pardon Leader: Brothers and sisters, God seeks the lost sheep and feeds them with justice. Forgiven and freed, believe the Good News of the Gospel! People: In Jesus Christ We are Forgiven!

For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
