Dear God, we gather this Easter morning giving you praise and glory for the hope you give us in Jesus’ resurrection that transforms this world. You continually invite us to be part of your transformation of the world, but we often have other things to take care of first. Help us to recognize that nothing in our lives is more important, more meaningful, more transforming than to accept Jesus’ invitation to rejoice, to celebrate the Resurrection and to be agents of hope in this world. Forgive us when we are too busy or distracted to rejoice, to celebrate, to be agents of hope. Thank you for your mercy and grace in Jesus as we pray in his name and for the sake of this world. Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Praise him above, ye heav’nly host;
