Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Sara McCurdy |
Forgive us, merciful God. So often we say that we choose you, but our actions do not match our words. Our choices reflect our priorities; we continually choose work, sports, sleeping in and any number of activities and idols over you. We send mixed messages to our children and grandchildren about our faith, and we fail to instruct them in your ways and your law. Help us to be faithful. Turn our hearts to your Word. Keep our feet on the path you have set. We yearn to serve and obey you. Hear the prayers of our hearts. Amen. |

Life of the Church | Special Music | Elder John Evans |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |

Passing of the Peace | O Jesus, I Have Promissed | Congregation |
Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen |

Assurance of Pardon Leader: As Joshua tells the Israelites, our God is a holy and jealous God. But the psalmist reminds us that God is also compassionate and gracious. “He does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Friends Believe the good news of the gospel!
